When I was a kid, around Christmas time I was always confused at what figgy pudding was. Honestly, I thought in We Wish You a Merry Christmas that they were saying Piggy Pudding, which I wondered what on earth that could be. Why would you want to have a dessert with pig in it? (Oh silly me, haha.) As I grew older, though I still have never eaten any figgy pudding, I do love the way that it looks! Who doesn’t love the sweet little holly berries and frosting on top?? Since I love the way it looks so much, I decided to make an ornament pattern of this iconic dessert. Presenting, my Figgy Pudding Ornament!

This sweet little ornament is another one of the designs I created for my collaboration with Premier Yarns. It can be a great little crocheted treat to bring as a gift to your Christmas parties, a fun addition to your tree, or you could even substitute the stuffing to make it into a sachet! It’s a super fast project that can be made in no time at all.

I loved creating this ornament with the Premier Yarns Everyday yarn! It works up wonderfully for amigurumi by having a sturdy fabric that is also super soft. It practically does whatever you want it to, which makes it one of my favorite yarns to work with.

One all of the pieces are done, sew on the frosting to the figgy pudding, and then the holly berry piece on top. Then fasten off and weave in the ends. Pull a string of yarn through the top of the figgy pudding and tie a knot at the top to make it an ornament!
