31 Days of Candy Day 20: Rainbow Rope Free Crochet Candy Pattern

Did you ever eat sour gummy ropes or fruit roll ups and unravel it so that you could have it hanging from your mouth? Then you’d eat it up and watch it disappear as you ate it. I did that all the time as a kid! I’d try to see how much I could fit in my mouth before I had to swallow. Today’s candy is that super fun fruity candy: my Rainbow Rope candy pattern!     I remember being so addicted to gummy roll ups that whenever I’d finish one, I immediately wanted a second one. My mom had to stop me a lot from eating them because I kept wanting to eat them. I wonder what magic they sprinkle into those fruity roll ups that makes kids want them so much. Maybe it’s the same thing they…

31 Days of Candy Day 20: Gummy Bear Free Crochet Pattern

Phew, day 20 of the 31 Days of Candy is here! Where has time disappeared to? There are only 11 days left of this event, and I can’t believe I’ve already put out 20 free crochet candy patterns. Today’s candy is one of my new favorite patterns: my Gummy Bear! This candy has all of the cuteness of gummy bears all wrapped in a tiny crochet project.   Gummy bears are one of the cutest candies in my opinion, because of their tiny bear shape and super fun colors. I don’t know if I’d say its one of my favorites to eat, but it’s definitely one of my favorites to look at. Maybe I don’t like eating them as much because I think they’re too cute, plus it feels weird eating a tiny bear…

31 Days of Candy Day 19: Licorice Free Crochet Pattern

Day 19 of the 31 Days of Candy is here! Our candy today is one of my favorite childhood candies, licorice. When I was a kid I loved the bright red color of licorice and the cherry flavor of those yummy gummy tubes. Sounds weird when I describe it like that, haha. Another reason why I think I always liked it was because it was one candy that I could have since it wasn’t made in a place with peanuts. I always wanted to get it when I went to the movies, or would get excited when places would have big tubs of them.   The real question though is whether you’re a Red Vines or a Twizzlers fan? I’m a Red Vines fan myself! I like the flavor and texture of them better than Twizzlers, which I always found too plastic. Some people…

31 Days of Candy Day 18: Almond Toffee Free Crochet Candy Pattern

Welcome to day 18 of the 31 Days of Candy! Our candy today is a delicious toffee. Mmmm toffee, it’s making my mouth water just thinking about it. Chocolate on top, buttery sugar on the bottom, and bits of nuts sprinkled throughout it. It used to be one of my favorite candies before I developed my nut allergies.   In my Finnish Fishie post, I talked a little bit about my love of toffee. I used to keep a bag of it inside my closet of Hershey Chocolate Toffee Nuggets that I’d sneak one of each day. It was my one sweet of the day that I’d have, but quite often that limit would be exceeded. They’re just so good that it was too hard to not take another one!   When I was making this candy, I asked my fiancĂ©, Stephen…

31 Days of Candy Day 17: Rock Candy Free Crochet Pattern

It’s Day 17 of the 31 Days of Candy! This sweet little Rock Candy is our candy of the day, and it’s one of my favorite candies from our event so far. I don’t think I’ve ever had actual rock candy, the sticks of crystalized sugar that looks like a stick of gemstones. They’ve always looked so pretty to me, but for some reason I’ve never actually eaten one. It’s probably because it was made somewhere with peanuts, since that seems to be the case with most candies for me. However, I might need to try one now because this cute Rock Candy has won me over to liking them!   Did you guys know that Rock Candy was originally used for medicinal purposes for a few hundred years? (Thank you internet for a fascinating article…
