I can’t believe we are already on Day 6 of the 31 days of candy. How did so many days pass already? Today’s candy is Cotton Candy! Though not considered to be a candy by some, I most definitely count it since it has candy in it’s name. Plus it fulfills the sugar quota of being made of almost complete sugar! I remember the first time I tried cotton candy: being skeptical at first with the cotton texture to then be amazed as it dissolved in my mouth with sweet sugary flavors. Fairy floss was a great name choice back in the day, because no matter what age you are it feels like magic in your mouth.
This has been one of my favorite candies to make so far. I had quite a lot of fun designing this pattern and watching it come together. I love the color combinations of Paintbox Yarn’s Bubblegum Pink and Washed Teal, which makes it look so sweet. This easy crochet pattern is worked in one piece from the top down, and uses basic crochet stitches that help any crochet level be able to make this quick project. Now all I need to do is make one in a jumbo size to cuddle with. Ooo, I’d love to see someone use this pattern with worsted or jumbo yarn. Anyone up for the challenge? Let’s start crocheting!

Recipe Notes:
- The cotton candy is crocheted in one piece of continuous rounds with no joining. Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker.
- Pattern uses US crochet terminology, but the UK terminology conversion is listed in the stitches used list above
- Face is made of felt pieces that are cut out and sewn on to the crocheted piece. Download my Felt Pieces for Plushies PDF Printout for the face pieces you’ll cut out of felt. Cut out two eyes from black felt, one mouth from pink felt, and a tongue from red felt. If you don’t know how to sew on felt pieces, see my Youtube video below that shows how to do it.
