I am a huge fan of pizza! Don’t believe me? Well, if I had to pick one food, and one food only, that I could have for the rest of my life it would have to be pizza. There’s just something so delicious about the combination of cheese and bread that makes my heart sing. I love how you can put any food on top of it, and it will taste amazing! So, since my love of pizza runs so deeply, I had to design a pattern featuring it! Combining pizza, colorwork, and one of my favorite puns, the Pizza My Heart Towel was born. Isn’t it so cute?? I’m so excited to share this pattern with you!

This crochet towel pattern was designed with simplicity and ease in mind. It is made in one piece as a rectangle, has minimal colorwork, and beginner level embroidery added on. I’ve created a video tutorial that walks you through everything from how to change colors in crochet, how to do intarsia crochet, how to read charts, and how to embroider words on crochet. You can find it on my Youtube channel at: Pizza My Heart Towel Tutorial.
Want to make this pattern even easier? I’ve created charts that help make the colorwork for this pattern nice and easy in the PDF version of the pattern. There is one for just the pizza, and then another that shows the whole towel with where to do all of the embroidery work. You can get these charts in the discounted PDF version of the pattern in my Etsy and Ravelry stores.
When I was first learning how to do crochet color work, I often felt so lost having to learn how to do color changes and reading crochet graphs. It can seem so intimidating to learn a new crochet skill! If you’re new to tapestry crochet or color work, then I’ve got just the resource for you.
Here on my blog, I’ve got a two free crochet tutorial for how to do tapestry crochet and intarsia crochet, which are the two most common crochet color work techniques. They’ll walk you through what each technique is, how to read crochet graphs, how to change colors in crochet, and a bunch of other tips I have for color work! You can find them here on my blog at:
– The Beginner’s Guide to Tapestry Crochet: (This technique is used when you would like to carry your yarn, and the color work is close together.)
– The Beginner’s Guide to Intarsia Crochet: (This technique is used when you don’t want to carry your yarn, and instead would like to use yarn bobbins. I used this for the Your Sunday Best Sweater)
I’ve also created a step by step tutorial for how to crochet this sweater pattern! You can find it on my Youtube channel at:

To make this crochet towel pattern, I used one of my favorite cotton yarns: We Crochet Dishie! This yarn is a 100% cotton worsted weight yarn, that is perfect for kitchen items. It has a softness that makes it nicer than the usual discount cotton yarns, durability for lots of kitchen use, and is super affordable! It comes in amazing colors, so you have endless choices on color combos for this pattern. If you’d like to get some Dishie yarn of your own, you can find it on We Crochet’s website at: Dishie Yarn.

Embroidered Words:
After the towel is finished, you will embroider the words onto it. Refer to the photo of the towel, or the second chart (available within the PDF version) for the exact placement for those words with each square counting as one stitch.
Take a tapestry needle, and thread with CC2. Then embroider the words using the back stitch onto the towel.
