Border Tutorial:

Notes:

• Borders are worked in the round with RS of blanket facing throughout.

Border Rows 1-2: Join border color yarn to blanket. Ch 3 (counts as sc and 2 ch), sk first stitch along edge, sc in sp between next 2 stitches, *ch 2, sk tile, sc in sp between stitches; rep from * around blanket. Place [sc, ch 1, sc] in each corner. Sl st to first ch from beginning of round to join. Fasten off.

Pom Pom Border Row:

See “Abbreviations and Glossary” at top of pattern for specific instructions on working a puff stitch.

To begin: Attach Border yarn in any corner ch1 sp. Ch 1 (does not count as a sc), sc in same sp, sc in next sc.

To make pom pom:

*Step 1: ch 6

Step 2: in third ch from the hook work puff st

Step 3: ch 3

Step 4: work puff st in ch1 top of previous puff st

Step 5: fold pom pom in half, sl st in same ch where first puff st was worked, ch 1 to tighten pom pom together

Step 6: ch 3. To attach to blanket: Sk 4 total ch1sp and sc sts, sc in fifth st, sc in next 2 sts.**

To work border: Rep from * to ** around blanket. For each corner: place sc in last sc at corner, 2 sc in corner ch1sp, sc in first sc on next blanket side.
