Bobble Pumpkin Blanket Free Crochet Pattern

Get ready for fall with my latest free crochet blanket pattern: the Bobble Pumpkin Blanket! If you love the crisp cool mornings of fall, pumpkin flavored everything, and all the cozy things, then you’ll love this crochet pumpkin blanket. It features cute crochet pumpkins made from bobble stitches and using intarsia crochet. This blanket is just the touch of fall your home needs!

Bobble Pumpkin Blanket Dimensions

When designing this blanket, I made sure to size it up for multiple sizes so that you could make it for anyone. It would be super cute for a baby born in fall, or for cuddling on the couch during the cool evenings.

Here are the dimensions for each of the three sizes:

  • Baby: 30” x 34” (available in the free version below)
  • Lapghan: 35” x 40” (available in the PDF pattern)
  • Throw: 43” x 47” (available in the PDF pattern)

Yarn For This Blanket

To make this blanket, the yarn I used is Lion Brand Color Theory. This yarn is quickly becoming one of my favorites! It comes in such a awesome range of colors that have been created to fit a wide range of color palettes. The yarn is a weight 4 worsted weight acrylic yarn that is so soft and lightweight.

The colors I used to make this are: Moonbeam (background color), Canyon (pumpkin color), Caper (leaves).

You can easily use another worsted weight yarn for this though! Some of my other favorites are Lion Brand Basic Stitch, Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, Hobbii Crafting Acrylic, and Hobbii Amigo XL.

Now available as a kit with Lion Brand Yarn!

This just in: the Bobble Pumpkin Blanket is available as a kit with Lion Brand Yarn! The kit comes with all of the yarn you’d need for any of the three sizes of the blanket, as well as the PDF pattern. I used the colors Moonbeam, Canyon, and Caper for my blanket. You can customize the kit though to be in any color combo you’d like!

Pattern Notes:

  • This pattern uses US crochet terminology.
  • To do the pumpkin colorwork sections, I used the intarsia crochet technique. This technique is done by creating 5 small balls of yarn that you join at each pumpkin. If you’ve never done this technique before, I walk you through how to do it in my Strawberries and Cream Blanket, which uses the same techniques as this one.
