Bobble Ear Warmer: Free Crochet Headband Pattern

Are you looking for a cute way to keep your ears warm? Then the Bobble Earwarmer pattern is for you! This fun and stylish crochet earwarmer pattern is the latest free crochet pattern on my blog. It’s a chunky crochet earwarmer that is cinched in the middle to create the look of a knot at the center. It can easily be made in an hour, and is such a quick and fun pattern that you’ll want to make one for everyone!

Inspiration

I love bobbles. If you’ve browsed any of my other patterns, then you know how often I use bobbles in my patterns. When I was planning my 12 Days of Christmas Gifts event on my blog, I knew that I wanted to incorporate bobbles into a quick and easy gift pattern. The first thing that came to mind was making a bobble ear warmer pattern! It had to be beginner friendly, fast to make, and would be super cozy. I’m all about cozy patterns, especially when I need to keep my ears warm! Not only is this pattern cute, but it will block out the cold from your ears so you can stay warm!

Construction

This crochet ear warmer is a quick and easy pattern that has a simple construction. It is crocheted flat before it is seamed up, and then has yarn wrapped around the seam to create the look of a knot on the front. You’ll only need to know how to do the two main stitches that are used in this pattern: half double crochet and the bobble stitch. Both are two of my favorite stitches to use, and they make this pattern so cute! I’ve also created a video tutorial for this pattern that walks you through each step of the pattern. That way if this is your first time making an ear warmer, then you can easily make it!

The Yarn

To make this bobble ear warmer pattern, you can use any weight 6 super bulky yarn. I love using Lion Brand Hometown USA to make my bobble ear warmers because you only need one skein of it to make this! It comes in so many great colors, and is so very soft! Plus, using Lion Brand Hometown USA is a affordable weight 6 yarn. If you don’t like Lion Brand Hometown USA yarn, I recommend using something like Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick or you could even use Bernat Blanket Yarn.

See the video tutorial for a step by step walk through of how to do this next part.Seam short sides of ear warmer together by sl st through both sides together. Then fasten off, and leave a long tail for wrapping the knot. Wrap the knot of the ear warmer by wrapping yarn around the seam you just did, pulling it tight as you do each wrap. Once you’ve used up most of the yarn tail you cut, fasten off and weave in ends.
