Winter Dreams Velvet Cowl: FREE Crochet Pattern

Winter Dreams Velvet Cowl: FREE Crochet Pattern

The cold weather is finally here, which means it’s time to pull out those beanies and scarves that will help you stay toasty (*que little squeal of excitement*). I love this time of year so much when I get to wear my cozy things, and when I get to start making them too! As soon as I tried the new Velvet yarn from Yarnspirations, I was in love, and decided that I wanted to design everything in it, haha. Seriously, you need to try this stuff!

I’ve been wanting to venture out into a new sphere of designing that I haven’t been a part of: wearables. I fell in love with making wearables when I made the Penelope Dress by Sewrella, and I knew from that moment on that I wanted to try out designing things that I could wear. It felt so scary venturing out into this new world. I decided to start with something simple, and began with my Winter Dreams Velvet Beanie. Then I loved that so much that I decided to making something else to go with it, and I was inspired to make a matching cowl! Let’s just say that I’m in love with this cowl!

This cowl combines all of my favorite things into one: velvet yarn, the bobble stitch, and incredible softness! Using only two different stitches, this cowl is a crochet project that works up super fast. I love how together the double crochet stitch and the bobble stitch add a unique texture to this project, with a drape to the cowl creates layers of coziness. Even though it’s simple to make, this cowl is going to add a super stylish piece to your wardrobe this winter!

If you’re doing any craft fairs this year or need a quick and easy Christmas gift, this cowl also is perfect for that! That was one of my goals with making this pattern, was that I would make a quick and easy cowl that could be made for anything you might need. I have a craft fair coming up next week and I’m definitely making a lot of these for selling there. Let’s go ahead and get started on making this cowl!
